Historical Archives
Since April 2014, the Library has been housing the Historical Archives at the new conservation room specially set up according to the directions provided by the Archival and Bibliographic Office for Lombardy.
The assets preserved include both papers produced by the University during the course of its activities since the early 1900s and other assets acquired in various capacities over time – each one related to businesses (Brustio-La Rinascente Archives), associations (National Chamber for Italian Fashion), or people (Ugo Pisa, Giuseppe Luraghi) who have had a significant role in the history of the Italian economy, often with deep ties to Milan.
The oldest documents date back to the 15th century and testify in particular to the development of economic relations between Tuscany and other Italian and European cities (Saminiati-Pazzi Archives). There are also records from Tuscany that allow us to partially reconstruct the management of a sharecropping company between the end of the 1700s and end of the 19th century (Artimino Archives).
The ASBOC portal is dedicated to the Historical Archives, where descriptions of archival units, digitalized photographs, and an ever-growing selection of historic and modern documents are available.
Descriptive files of archival materials can also be looked up in SearchLib of the Bocconi University Library and Archives, and replicas of a selection of photographs and documents are displayed in the dedicated Digital Collection.
